PCA Membership

Pennsylvania Collectors Association PCAAny person or entity residing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania who is substantially engaged in the credit industry or collection industry and who subscribes to and agrees to be governed by the Code of Ethics of the ACA International is eligible for active membership in this Association upon satisfaction of the following requirements:


*Full compliance with all membership requirements of ACA International;


*Full compliance with any requirements prescribed under Pennsylvania Law;


*Submission of the names and contact information of three clients of the Applicant so that the Membership Committee can obtain reference information on the applicant.


Each application for membership will be approved by the Association's Membership Committee. All requirements must be met by each applicant.

Benefits of PCA Membership

* Convenient/affordable/specific-to-issues educational seminars led by trained, experienced collection industry professionals. The Pennsylvania Unit hosts a dozen sessions per year, including seminars required for collectors certification.

* Two-for-one enrollment in the ACA International Professional Telephone Techniques Seminar and FDCPA Seminar. PCA pays for the additional enrollment whenever a second individual from the member agency signs up.

* Proactive, legislative knowledge and insight to impact changes in state laws and regulations.  Successful enactment of Right of Assignment legislation, and the elimination of Pennsylvania's antiquated Debt Collection Regulations which were replaced with the FDCPA are successful campaigns spearheaded by PCA. Currently, PCA is proactive at the grassroots level in an effort to educate its members in developing and maintaining a meaningful dialog with legislators!

* PCA has a growing, up-to-date Web site which will be host to news and links affecting your industry.

* Complimentary listing of your firm on our web site and linked to the top search engines.

* Northeast Debt Collection Expo & Conference-the annual, multi-state convention held in conjunction with the New York State Collectors Association and attended by your peers from bordering states. This one is jam-packed with industry speakers, vendors and education!

* Keystone Collector, PCA's periodic newsletter packed with need-to-know information about the collection field and member news including profiles on current members and reliable, timely information and support on industry compliance and legal issues.

* Networking opportunities to build business relationships and establish a personal network of people with whom you can discuss business trends, ideas, problems and concerns.

* Members Attorney Program (MAP) providing access to a Pennsylvania based attorney member familiar with your industry's laws and regulations.

* Access:  Both our executive office and elected board members are available to direct you to numerous resources within the PCA/ACA network.
